The BSC has been a key player in computational research since its establishment in 2005. With over 1,200 researchers, the center provides cutting-edge supercomputing resources to advance scientific discovery across disciplines. It hosts MareNostrum 5, one of Europe’s most powerful supercomputers, which supports research in fields ranging from climate modeling and life sciences to AI-driven social science.

As part of BIG-5, we are thrilled to be engaging with experts shaping the future of computational research. Our work aligns closely with CSSH’s mission to bridge data-driven insights with real-world impact, and we are looking forward to future collaborations that push the boundaries of bioeconomy research and sustainable innovation.
