Fostering Internet-based Values of the Environment

Alba Ortiz Naumann

PhD Researcher

I hold a BSc in Marine Biology with Oceanography, although my research interests have always been driven by a curiosity about the human dimension of environmental change. This led me to pursue an MSc in Global Changes, linking natural science perspectives with approaches of social science disciplines and a second masters degree in Therapeutical Neuroscience, focusing on Behavioral Psychology. My previous research was centered on Sport Ecology and Cultural Ecosystem Services using social media data.

As a doctoral researcher, I am engaging in the conceptual development of theory, research design and analysis to understand environmental stewardship triggered by Digital Relational Values. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the project I am also acting as a knowledge broker between social-environmental research at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA-UAB) and computational social science research at the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC).
